Bomag establishes Spain subsidiary near capital Madrid
30 August 2024
German-based construction machinery manufacturer Bomag founded a new subsidiary in Torrejon de Ardoz, Spain, in the Community of Madrid. The announcement follows the buyout of Bomag dealer Maquinter.
Financial details for the merger were not available.
Maquinter was a distributor of Bomag compaction and road-building equipment since 1993. It served Spanish and Portuguese markets. Bomag is a subsidiary of French construction and industrial firm Fayat Group.
“We have enjoyed a successful and cooperative partnership with Maquinter for over 31 years,” said Dr Ingo Ettischer, president of Bomag Group. “We see great potential and increased demand for the future in the growing Spanish market. By integrating Maquinter into our organisation, we are strengthening our position in the long term and further expanding our presence in the asphalt segment in the region.”
The new subsidiary will be named Bomag Ibérica de Maquinaria. The company said it will distrubute Bomag‘s complete product portfolio.
“Machinery will be sold either directly to end customers or via a well-established dealer and service partner network all over the Spanish mainland and the Canary Island,“ added Bomag.
The new company will retain its operational headquarters in Torrejon de Ardoz, which is located just east of the City of Madrid in the Community of Madrid. Bomag said all 20 Maquinter employees will continue to work at the site as part of the Bomag Group.
Jonathan Stringham, Bomag vice president of sales and marketing, said, “It gives me great pleasure to welcome the experienced employees of Maquinter to the Bomag family – this merger significantly strengthens our network in the Spanish market.
“With their expertise and the new structures, we will be able to support our customers even more effectively with Bomag‘s machine expertise and first-class service.“
