US-based construction, agriculture and recreational equipment manufacturer John Deere will be integrating Trimble technology into its SmartGrade platform, which Deere said will allow customers to “control solutions that can operate seamlessly on any jobsite.”
Trimble will provide its Earthworks Grade Control technology for John Deere’s existing SmartGrade platform.
SmartGrade is Deere’s fully-integrated grade-control system that automates portions of the grading process using both 2D and 3D references.
The platform is said to increase accuracy, efficiency and productivity while decreasing risk and operational difficulty.
Jerred Pauwels, vice president of earthmoving production systems and engineering at John Deere, said, “Our partnership with Trimble presents a tremendous opportunity for our customers to access Trimble’s advanced technology ecosystem.”
The move for Deere represents a broader approach to providing more options for operators to access integrated grade control solutions.
Ron Bisio, senior vice president of field systems at Trimble, added, “Trimble is committed to making it as easy as possible for civil construction contractors on job sites all over the world to benefit from the use of machine control technology, regardless of what type of heavy equipment they use. Our Connect & Scale strategy enables smarter operations across digital and physical domains.”
